Our ABCKidz Summer Camp will be a FREE quality program opened to a maximum of 100 Jersey City youth between the ages 7 – 13 years of age. Campers will be divided into their cohort group and supervised by experienced camp counselors and Camp Director.
We offer a six-week summer camp program that will operate outdoors in a secured area during the months July through August and daily Mondays through Fridays from the hours 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. During inclement weather, the youth will be moved to a secured indoor location nearby. Each camper will be given a free nutrient meal for breakfast and lunch provided by our local summer food program providers. ABC, Inc. objective is to have each camper participate in cohort team building and communication skills by exposing them to activities that incorporate and develop their unique talents.
Camp counselors will work each day on pre-established lesson plans that integrate group activities and organized team sports which will allow each child to interact and work towards these goals of better communication and team building. These lesson plans will include reading, writing, math skills development. Lesson will also include activities that will challenge them to utilize problem solving, conflict resolution, leadership, and goal setting development skills. Other activities such as culture and the arts will be cultivated. Campers will be taken on field trips to museums, athletic events, libraries, and other venues throughout the New Jersey Metropolitan area. Fridays are Fundays and will be designated for trips or BBQs unless otherwise noted. Parental and guardian participation is encouraged on Fundays.
It is critical to provide our youth with access to positive, constructive, supervised activities including learning and counseling opportunities within our summer camp program.
